HACKTOBERFEST HACK DAY — Kalyani
Hacktoberfest Hack Day — Kalyani: Open Source, AI, and Building Together
AI and open source belong to everyone.
This October, developers, students, and tech enthusiasts across Kalyani are coming together for a full day of learning, building, and connecting — all in celebration of Hacktoberfest 2026.
The Event
Hacktoberfest Hack Day — Kalyani is an MLH (Major League Hacking) Hack Day, bringing 8 hours of hands-on collaboration to the Kalyani Government Engineering College campus.
- 📅 Date: 4th October 2026
- 🕙 Time: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- 📍 Venue: AAB, Kalyani Government Engineering College
What to Expect
Whether you're pushing your first pull request or you're a seasoned open-source contributor, this event is designed to bring the community together around a shared idea: open source and AI are for everyone, regardless of experience level.
Across the day, expect:
- Hands-on contribution time — work on real open-source projects and get eligible for Hacktoberfest 2026
- AI-focused sessions — explore how artificial intelligence is shaping the future of open-source development
- Community connection — meet fellow developers, exchange ideas, and build your network
- Guided support — mentorship and help for first-time contributors
Why It Matters
Open source thrives on participation, not pedigree. Hacktoberfest exists to lower the barrier to entry into the global developer community — and events like this bring that spirit directly to campus, turning a global initiative into a local, hands-on experience.
Who Should Join
- Students curious about open source but unsure where to start
- Developers looking to make meaningful Hacktoberfest contributions
- Anyone interested in the intersection of AI and open-source tooling
- Contributors who want to learn, mentor, or just build alongside others
