Electrical Engineering

FROM THE HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT

Electrical Engineering department was established in the year of 2006. Presently the department offers B. Tech in Electrical Engineering, with intake capacity of 60 students, In the year of 2014, AICTE approved Post Graduate (M.Tech) course in the specialization of Power System with intake of 18 students. The department has qualified and highly motivated faculty and SACT members with various specializations. The department is equipped with around 10 different laboratories.  The department has established a good track record in teaching and research among the regional institutes, through consistent effort of faculty & SACT members. Since inception, department is continuously contributing novel and innovative ideas in Electrical Engineering to keep pace with the latest technological developments. Electrical Engineering department of the Institute has produced so many technocrats who have been placed in various reputed R&D organizations, different eminent companies, in India and abroad. Faculty members and a total 12 number of research scholars are deeply engaged with research activities in diverse emerging areas. Moreover, departments own number of patents, sponsored projects, books, Conference  and journal publication with reputed publishers. The department also has strong collaboration with various Institutions like NIT, IIT, IIEST and Jadavpur University for joint Ph.D Program. One faculty member of the department has been declared among the world’s top 2% scientists for five consecutive years by Stanford University. Moreover, two faculty members of the department have been declared among the world’s top 2% scientists for 2023 by Stanford University. One faculty member has been awarded the Siksha Ratna Award in 2023.
